Salty Coffee:
He met her on a party, she was so outstanding, many guys were chasing after her, while he was so normal, nobody paid attention to him. At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him. she was surprised, but as he was polite, she promised.They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything.
She felt uncomfortable, she thought,
"please, let me back home".
Suddenly he asked the waiter:
"would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee."
Everybody stared at him, so strange!
His face turned red, but still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it.
She asked him curiously:
"why you have this hobby?"
He replied:
"when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I liked playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, salty and bite, just like the taste
of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there."
While saying that, tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched. That's his true feeling,from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesick, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home...
Then she also started to speak about her far away hometown, her childhood, her family.
That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story.
They continued to date. She found actually he was a man who meets all her demands: he had tolerance,was kind hearted, warm, careful...he was such a good person but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee!
Then the story was just like every beautiful love story: the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life...
And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, as she knew that's the way he liked it.
After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said:
"My dearest,
please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie I
said to you - the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated?
I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but
I said salt. It was hard for me to change so I just went ahead. I
never thought that could be the start of our communication! I tried
to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do
that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything.
Now I'm dying, I afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth:
I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste.
But I have the salty coffee for my whole life since I knew you,
I never feel sorry for anything I do for you.
Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life.
If I can live for the second time, I still want to know you and
have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee

Her tears made the letter totally wet .

aniwae.. the day started pretty well today!!hahahah! went to school and crush a cockroach!!hahaha!it was quite fun!!! there was this crunchy noise tt i like since young..hahaha! at first teresa was just screaming.. den she was saying, "PEIYUNNNN!!!!!ITS ON YOUR BAG!!!!" at tt time i was real scared!so afraid tt it'll be a lizard k.. wha laoz!!!den it turned out to be a cockroach!!hahaha! den i just stepped on it lahz.. i can really be professional cockroach killer.. i'm like alwaes killing cockroaches.. each time they sum and spray sum stuff into tt big rubbish chute..all the roaches will climb out and die lahz.. but u know there and string ones and weak ones.. the strong ones obviously survived tt ordeal.. but ha! they were just unlucky.. i saw them.. so being the gross me..its my instinct tt i step on it.. lest it flies onto my face.. hahaha! aniwae.. i killed tt roach and it was smashed onto the floor lahz.. den chris's bag was there.. and they were all worried tt sum curious person will kaypo go open and scream their lungs out.. so i had to pick it up ok.. wha laoz! all tt mess!!!usually i just leave it there to rot..but yah.. i picked it up lahz..den threw it into sum faraway dustbin!!was quite worried whether it wil drop off or wad. cos u know lizards can drop oiff their tails..den i'm tinking if roaches can do tt also.. hahahah!

INDEPENDENCE IS THE WAY TO Go...
“We better die!” was Secondary 3 student Ying Wei’s reaction when she first heard that leaving books under the table was going to be prohibited. Ying Wei, coming from one of the best classes in the level proves somehow that leaving books under the desks does not affect a student’s learning in any way.
Making students bring books home everyday is causing much health problems. As girls in their teenage years are growing, their spinal structures are rather weak. And with these heavy bags; it may cause spinal problems, leading to an increasing number of hunchbacks in the society later on.
Prohibiting students from leaving their books under their desks is quite a hassle for students leaving far distances away from school. With the increasing number of students taking public transportation home, the buses are usually packed with people. With these huge bags, it is rather inconvenient for these passengers, causing much inconvenience.
However, due to the increasing number of thefts in the school, teachers had to come up with such an idea to prohibit students from leaving books under their desks, as they believe that this is the only way to stop theft.
“Without books, what can the thieves steal?” is one of the reasons why teachers have decided to implement such a rule.
Teachers think that students will be motivated to study if students were to bring their heavy books home, but this was proven to be wrong. Siew Leng, a 13-year old girl said,” usually when I reach home, I’ll be exhausted by the heavy bag that I lug home, soon after I’ll take a nap, and by the time I wake up, it is already at night. By the time I finish my homework, it is already time for bed.”
With the packed schedule that many students already have, it is impossible for any student to study every single subject a day. It is too much for a student to absorb. Besides, with the tests and examinations coming up, students will have to spend more time on their weaker subjects, instead of studying the same subject over and over again.
To many students, they believe that to leave books under their desk and still able to plan their time well, coping with schoolwork are signs of independence. Whether or not a student wants to take pride in her work depends on her own responsibility. Even if a student were to bring home his/her every book, it is not necessary that he/she will study at home.
With the fast-pacing society today, shouldn’t teachers start to educate the young about independence and not just quantity?
